Diana L.

I was 31 years old and had been working at my job for about 6 years when the company was sold and the center I worked at was closed. needed a job that would help me provide for my family. I attended a college-planning workshop that MEOC was presenting. It was at that point that I realized I needed to go to college.

The MEOC program helped me fill out the college application and the entire financial process. My MEOC advisor provided the knowledge of when and how to apply for financial aid each year.

I am proud to say I have achieved a 3.68 GPA and will be graduating May 2008 from CMCC. My grades have earned me a TRIO Student Support Services scholarship, which I received in March of 2007.

My future plans include finding a job in the Medical assisting field. Obtaining a college degree will not only provide for my family financially but on many other levels. Over the past two years I have needed to rely on government programs to help make ends meet. I am excited about graduating so I can provide for my family on my own.
